Manufacturing
I am responsible for the manufacturing of all the parts at IDS.
We have a strong sense of responsibility of producing the best parts possible,
and the ability to reposed very quickly to everyone's needs.

The manufacturing department has engineers
with many different specialtiesThe integrated production of IDS. By having engineers in many fields, we can produce most parts in-house. The manufacturing department is divided into several sections including: material procurement, wiring, assembly, and component processing. The component processing section is responsible for the following:
1. Precision sheet metal forming (pressing, welding, drilling, etc.)
2. Machined components (Milling and Lathe work)
3. Resin Molding
There is also a section devoted to the manufacturing of consumables which include aliquot tubes, caps, etc.
IDS has made the decision to produce as many parts as possible in our own factories. This allows us to better control delivery schedules and pricing. In addition, I can also use these capabilities to improve our ability to test new system design. Lastly, it has a positive effect on our maintenance schedules; eliminating any delays caused by product availability from a third party vendor.
Our integrated production philosophy has had a positive impact on many parts of our company.IDS has a wide variety of products, as well as the ability to customize our offerings as required. While it is a strong point that we can produce such a broad variety of products, it does place additional stress on our quality control operations. We are in continuous communication with our staff to both inform them on any relevant information, as well as facilitating the input from product specialists to ensure high quality manufacturing.
Moreover, we have enhanced our internal verification equipment. This makes it easier for us to test and debug our systems before delivery to a customer site.
It is becoming more common that customers from all over world are visiting our factory for these final tests. -
Both high quality and rapid response
are very importantNow, the launch of a new product line is very exciting. But with all new products, some unforeseen circumstances can arise. As an example, the product may not fit into a lab the way it was depicted on the floorplans. In such a case, I can contact the design section of the manufacturing department directly; but it is much better if I can involve both the Development and Manufacturing sections at the same time. This can also help with the fast production of repair parts.
In an effort to respond quickly to any situation, all issues are handled the same day that they occur. It is our normal operation to produce any corrected parts the next morning. Even when secondary processing is required (such as metal plating), the response will be at the earliest possible time.I am often asking my staff to practice the concept of “ considering various conditions and situations broadly, and then planning for all of them.” If there is not any clarity on what the deliverables are, you will never really complete the project, even when it is delivered. Moreover, it is important that any problem that is addressed is resolved in a way that prevents it from happening again. This is accomplished by performing a root cause analysis, not by fixing the symptoms. Since there are many employees involved, it is important that they are aware of the end goal for the project. I try to advance the quality of our systems while embracing our employees aspirations for advancement.
